Professional Development for exhibiting artists

As part of the Danjoo - Interwoven project a number of paid professional development opportunities have been presented to exhibiting artists.

Working alongside MJAC curator Greg Sikich in a mentored position, Lea Taylor has co-curated Danjoo - Interwoven and Wallka-yong-a Kaardijin. Lea has played a vital role in Danjoo- Interwoven which is her first curatorial project. Esther McDowell and Deborah Bonar-Mills have also been working with the MJAC team to help install the exhibition gaining valuable skills and insight into the presentation of an exhibition.

Other artists will also have the opportunity to present workshops such as Postcards from the Sea with Linda James, Gouache Painting with Lance Chadd and Deborah Bonar-Mills’ community canvas. Talks will be presented by Lea Taylor and Esther McDowell and artist in residence Rohin Kickett will be working with local schools during his time at MJAC.
