Printmaking Sampler with Phoebe Todd-Parrish

Explore the possibilities of printmaking in this six week beginner’s course with print-artist Phoebe Todd-Parrish. Each week will introduce a different printmaking technique such as Etching, Linocut, Woodcut and Screenprinting. In addition to learning the proper technique for preparing plates, registration, editioning, and how to set and operate a printing press, students will have the opportunity to experiment and create their own unique series of fine-art prints.

Printing equipment, inks, paper and carving tools included in the cost of the workshop. Be sure to wear closed in shoes, an apron and messy clothes.

Week 2: Etching: Drypoint
Week 3: Relief I: Linocut
Week 4: Relief II: Woodcut
Week 5: Screenprinting I: Cut stencils
Week 6: Screenprinting II: selective inking, drawing fluid & further thoughts
