Ancient cultural tradition meets contemporary sustainable design.

This Eco Fashion Week Australia 2026 (EFWA26) project is a United Nations backed project driving education, awareness & support for Indonesian artisan communities preserving 300-year-old Buya Subi weaving tradition by reinstating the relevance of this craft in a contemporary context. Incredible handmade garments - both work of art and cultural artefact - that can be worn and cherished for generations to come.

Join Whiskey & Boots for the close of their exhibition, Leave The Light On: Stories About Home , as they perform a short snippet of selected stories from the community engaged installation, accompanied by live original music. The performance will be followed by an informal discussion with the artists. Light refreshments provided
Leave The Light On is a storytelling experience reflecting on our relationships to “Home,” and asks audiences to consider the home they come from and the home they will make in the future.

ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE | OPEN STUDIO, PERFORMANCE AND ARTIST TALK

Join us at MJAC to discover what artists Rebecca Jensen and Swaroopa Unni have been working on during their residencies. Rebecca Jensen invites guests to contribute to a haiku project which will form a growing collective archive of everyday observations in Community Notices. Swaroopa Unni presents the development of EarthSong, a solo Mohiniyattam dance exploring the deep connections between women and nature.

The performance will be followed by talks with Jensen and Unni, as they discuss their stories, creative practices and the development of projects. Light refreshments provided.

Join us for the Black Diasporas Boorloo-Perth exhibition and community gathering. Black Diasporas Boorloo-Perth is an oral narrative project that documents the experiences of individuals from the African diaspora living in Perth.

Celebrate the digital map, an archive that holds stories ranging from the Australian contribution to the anti-apartheid movement, to the mundaness of catching the train.

Heather is a multi award-winning artist who has lived in the Perth Hills for most of her life. This exhibition stands at a point in the continuous timeline of her work. It demonstrates an existing formidable body of work and points to even greater achievements into the future. So please join us for this celebration of Heather’s work.
