Papalote Australia, is pleased to present the theatrical adaptation of the classic Mexican novel "Macario" written by Bruno Traven (1913).
Macario is a humble woodcutter and street sweeper, who lives obsessed with the hardships of his poverty and the fear of death. Due to the precarious situation always on the verge of hunger that he and his family live, he begins to yearn to be able to enjoy just eating without having to share it with anyone. This performance will be spoken in Spanish with English subtitles.

Learn the art of creative portrait photography from Award Winning Photographer Josh Wells. In this workshop learn to build rapport with your sitter all while managing camera settings, framing, and exposure.

This offering focuses on portraiture that captures the uniqueness of the subject and develops the distinct voice of the photographer. Gain the tools to photograph everyday people, not just models, balancing both the pragmatic aspects of camera settings with the creative vision.

In order to understand and experience both sides of a portrait sitting, participants will experience being both photographer and subject.

Participants are to bring their own camera of any brand or model, including phone cameras.

Midland Junction Arts Centre is delighted to present the Makers’ Film Festival, an international short film festival with a focus on craft – makers, making and materials.

This edition features 14 films from 8 countries including collaborations from Australia, Canada, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa, United Kingdom, and USA. Selected from a worldwide call out, the final set of films includes a wide variety of genres as well as craft practices and materials from organic fashion to incense-making, terrazzo tiles to glass, ceramics, puppetry and automata, to name a few.
