Folded Form Jewellery with ka:ke Studio

  • Midland Junction Arts Centre (map)

Fold and bend a metal sheet to create your own piece of wearable art in this half day workshop with the girls from ka:ke Studio. Working with thin brass and copper sheets you will learn to cut, fold and finish the metal creating delicate forms to form a pair of earrings or a brooch. Participants will utilise assemblage techniques using cold connections to create earring hooks or a brooch pin with the option to oxidise their copper sheet to create a beautiful matte black surface finish their work.

ka:ke is an artistic collaboration between Kate Rae and Kerry O’Flaherty. Bringing 20 years combined experience in the architecture and design industry, ka:ke began as a joint exploration into creating small objects of art to decorate both the body and the home.
