Join us at MJAC to discover what artists Rebecca Jensen and Swaroopa Unni have been working on during their residencies. Rebecca Jensen invites guests to contribute to a haiku project which will form a growing collective archive of everyday observations in Community Notices. Swaroopa Unni presents the development of EarthSong, a solo Mohiniyattam dance exploring the deep connections between women and nature.

The performance will be followed by talks with Jensen and Unni, as they discuss their stories, creative practices and the development of projects. Light refreshments provided.

Join Whiskey & Boots for the close of their exhibition, Leave The Light On: Stories about Home , as they perform a short snippet of selected stories from the community engaged installation, accompanied by live original music. The performance will be followed by an informal discussion with the artists.

Leave The Light On is a storytelling experience reflecting on our relationships to “Home,” and asks audiences to consider the home they come from and the home they will make in the future.
